Course Overview
This course provides delegates with an introduction to the concept of airworthiness and demonstrates how Airworthiness and Safety Regulation is controlled in the UK. It provides an overview of the processes and procedures used by the UK CAA to ensure that individuals, manufacturers, operators and maintenance organisations comply with the relevant Airworthiness Regulations, setting this work in the International context established by ICAO and EASA.

Brian Watt
Mini Airworthiness
Brian is a highly experienced Flight Operations and Training Inspector with over seven years’ experience conducting Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD) evaluations on behalf of the UK Civil Aviation Authority and European Union Aviation Safety Agency. He brings extensive regulatory, training, and operational expertise gained across both authority and airline leadership roles.

Ian has over 35 years of experience in the industry. He is an Airworthiness specialist at the UK CAA ( including ASSI) including British Aerospace, and now BAE Systems. Ian has previously worked as an Avionics design certification specialist on large aircraft and a Part 145 and Part M specialist. Ian is currently delivering our Initial Airworthiness and Continuing Airworthiness training courses and instructing training addressing the airworthiness aspects of Specific Approvals.

Andrew has been working in the aviation industry for 47 years, in the areas of aircraft maintenance, continuing airworthiness and as a safety regulator. Andrew is a qualified aircraft maintenance engineer with 17 years of aircraft maintenance experience, on multiple aircraft types, in various roles.
Andrew has been part of the UK CAA for 30 years. During this time he worked with foreign Civil Aviation Authorities and Governments on improving safety standards and levels of compliance with ICAO standards.
Andrew has vast experience of the implementation and application of UK CAA and EASA requirements and he brings this experience to all the courses that he delivers.
