Meet our leadership team that is responsible for the management of the CAA International.
Maria joined CAAi in 2011 and was appointed to the position of Managing Director in 2015. Maria is responsible for setting the long-term strategic vision for CAAi and establishing and maintaining senior stakeholder engagement and key partnerships. Maria has over 23 years of experience in the aviation sector and holds MSc in Airports and Air Navigation Services as well as BSc in Aeronautical Engineering.
Mattijs joined CAAi in 2018 and is responsible for CAAi’s international development strategy to help achieve the organisation’s vision. Mattijs has 14 years’ experience working in the aviation industry where he has held several senior positions including Director of Strategic Business Development at Royal Haskoning DHV, Managing Director of Kilimanjaro International Airport and Director of Strategy and International Development of Schiphol Group. Mattijs has Master’s degree in Business Economics from Rijks University Groningen, Netherlands.
Matthew joined the CAAi in 2009 and was appointed Head of International Operations for the Middle East, Africa and Americas in 2018. Matthew leads a multidisciplinary technical assistance and project management team across CAAi’s delivery function for some of the strategically significant regions for the UK CAA. He is also responsible for international examination and licensing services. Matthew has 19 years’ experience working in the aviation industry, including to Chief Executive and Board level, and holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree from the Oxford Brookes University.
Rob joined CAAi in 2011 and became Head of International Operations for the Asia Pacific region in 2017 responsible for our Programme Delivery. Rob has vast aviation operational and commercial experience with 17 years at BAA plc covering London’s South-East Airports. Rob has a Bachelor Honours Degree of Valuation and Estate Management from the University of West of England and maintains his professional qualification as a Chartered Surveyor.
Vera has 15 years of operational and decision-making experience in the aviation industry. She joined the CAAi in 2010 and is responsible for directing the cross-functional teams and our Portfolio delivery within the European and UK region. Vera is also overseeing the strategic development of CAAi’s aviation safety regulation training offering. Before joining CAAi, Vera spent 5 years within transport consultancy sector producing transport policies and forecasts for several states. Vera holds a Master’s of Science in Transport Planning and Management from the University of Westminster as well as BEng in Air Traffic and Transport Engineering from University of Belgrade.
Graham has worked for the CAA since 2002, starting as an Airworthiness Surveyor and then Airworthiness Assurance Quality Manager. He has held a number of Business Management roles, leading on Business Risk Management, Quality Management Systems and Internal quality audit. Graham has had 20 years’ experience in operational aircraft maintenance and aircraft build oversight / quality assurance, as a Licenced Aircraft Engineer / technical manager. Graham joined CAAi in 2017 and is responsible for the Technical Resources that CAAi use to deliver projects.
