Course Overview

This course covers EMAR (European Miliary Aviation Requirement) 147 and EMAR 66 and has been designed for Organisations involved in Military Maintenance Training, and for individuals obtaining a Military Aviation Maintenance Licence (MAML).

It is relevant to those working for organisations or regulators where the EMAR requirements are invoked. It should be noted that the EMARs have not been adopted by the UK MOD regulatory system, so organisations with contracts linked to the UK MOD should be aware of this.

In this course, you will discuss EMAR 66 Engineer licensing and EMAR 147 approved training organisations, together with the associated Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Materials (GM). The knowledge and skills developed through the course will help enable your organisation to demonstrate and maintain compliance.

  • Designed by experienced UK CAA aviation regulators with EMAR 147 and 66 expertise
  • Provides a clear understanding of training organisation and licensing requirements
  • Explores regulatory oversight, compliance, and personnel certification processes
What is EMAR 147 and EMAR 66 Training and Licensing?

EMAR 147 Maintenance Training Organisation Approval is a regulatory framework that governs the approval and oversight of organisations providing military aircraft maintenance training. It sets out the requirements for these training organisations to meet in terms of facilities, training programmes, instructors’ qualifications, and examination processes. EMAR 147 ensures that the training provided is of high quality and meets the standards set by the NMAAs in the participating Member States (pMS).

EMAR 66 Certifying Staff, on the other hand, refers to the certification process for individuals who perform aircraft maintenance tasks. It establishes the requirements for knowledge, skills, and experience that certifying staff must possess to ensure the airworthiness and safety of aircraft. EMAR 66 defines the categories and subcategories of certifications based on the aircraft systems and components the individuals are qualified to work on. It includes examinations, experience requirements, and ongoing training to ensure that certifying staff maintain their competency throughout their careers.

This course is suitable for employees of a Military Maintenance Training Organisation, those who administer the licenses, or those who regulate such organisations.
