Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training standards differ worldwide, leaving managers with the challenge to develop a training programme that delivers the highest levels of aviation safety.
In co-operation with industry, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) developed CAP 699, the most comprehensive ARFF personnel training safety standard. Building on the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Annex 14, CAP 699 promotes a clear ‘task and skills’ orientated approach, promoting training as an integral part of Aerodrome management strategy.
CAAi has developed an exclusive training programme assessment service to support training organisations, airports and National Aviation Authorities (NAA’s) in the implementation and accreditation of ARFF training.
Drawing on the experience and expertise of UK CAA Rescue and Fire Fighting Service experts, CAAi can offer a tailored approach to the assessment of RFFS training, providing expert guidance on ICAO Annex 14, EASA and UK CAP 699 compliance.
1. Preliminary Assessment
CAA ARFF experts can review the framework of your training programme against UK CAP 699 standards and where necessary, advise on areas of improvement.
2. On-Site Review
CAA ARFF operational and training experts can visit your facilities and assess your ARFF training process first-hand. We will develop a constructive report detailing your training programme’s level of compliance to UK CAP 699.
3. ARFF Training Advisory Services
CAAi can prepare a ‘road map to accreditation’ report, providing step-by-step guidance to meet the highest ARFF training standards. For organisations who choose not to meet the CAP 699 requirements, CAAi can still provide a high-level assessment of your training programme.
4. Full ARFF CAP 699 Accreditation
Once your training programme meets CAP 699 requirements, CAAi can offer a post assessment training audit in accordance with international standards.
CAAi will issue an internationally recognised accreditation, certifying your ARFF training programme to ICAO Annex 14, EASA and UK CAP 699, the highest safety standards in airport fire service training.
CAAi can also conduct periodic training programme inspections to ensure your course continues to deliver ARFF personnel training to the highest level, improving aviation safety standards and aerodrome operations worldwide.
