As part of a consortium led by Egis Avia, CAAi delivered a series of aviation security training in-country to ASEAN Member States under EASA’s ARISE Plus Civil Aviation Project.
Delivered in Bangkok and Indonesia, the training programme covered a wide range of aviation security subjects, including Certification of Screeners, Risk Management, Cybersecurity Oversight, Managing Insider Risks, Performance -Based Oversight, Cargo Oversight and Covert/Overt Testing.
The second deliverable included a regional workshop for ASEAN Member States to help increase compliance with AvSec international standards and recommended practices and support higher levels of harmonisation amongst ASEAN Member States. The workshops, led by CAAi aviation security instructors, explored Security Culture and the Fundamentals of Risk Management.
About the ARISE Plus Civil Aviation Project:
The overall objective is to support greater economic integration in ASEAN through the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025 and to strengthen institutional capacity. The specific objective of the project is to enhance connectivity and sectorial cooperation in Transport, including enhancement of the ASEAN Single Aviation Market. The project supports the achievement of a safe, secure and sustainable ASEAN Single Aviation Market based on high regulatory standards. The project will also coordinate with the complementary EU-Southeast Asia Aviation Partnership Project. The beneficiary states of the project are the countries from the ASEAN region: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
