The Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas (CAA-B) has opened the country’s first Flight Crew Licencing (Part-FCL) examination centre at their head office in Nassau, marking a significant milestone for flight crew seeking conversion of another State’s licence into a Bahamas licence.

In collaboration with CAA International (CAAi), the new examination centre was successfully opened in June 2024. It offers modern assessment facilities and advanced electronic exam support. Technical support and expertise are provided through CAAi and Aspeq ensuring a seamless examination experience.

Ahead of the exam centre inauguration, extensive training was provided by CAAi to CAA Bahamas personnel on the use of the new system and delivery of examinations. Representatives from CAAi, including International Operations & Development Manager, Fabiana Sarnataro-Blake and Senior International Project Coordinator Joanna Karabinos, were present for the launch.

Delvin R. Major, Deputy Director General of Safety Oversight  at CAAB commented:

“The Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas extend our deepest gratitude to CAAi for their outstanding support in the development of the Airmen Air Law Testing Database for the CAA-B. The collaborative efforts between our organizations have resulted in a state-of-the-art testing system that will significantly enhance the knowledge and proficiency of airmen operating within Bahamian airspace.

We take great pride in our collaboration with CAAi and are confident that this partnership will contribute significantly to the safety and regulation of aviation in the Bahamas. We look forward to many more years of cooperative collaborations and shared successes.”
