In a bid to elevate aviation standards and nurture global talent, CAA International (CAAi) is sponsoring four aspiring EASA-licensed aircraft engineers from Africa. This initiative offers critical training and mentorship, helping the students on their journey to achieve an EASA Engineer Licence. The sponsorship is funded through CAAi’s social enterprise reinvestment programme and delivered in collaboration with the International Federation of Airworthiness (IFA).

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia has appointed CAAi to harmonise Saudi Arabia’s aviation safety regulatory framework with EASA. This collaboration officially launched in November, with a series of project launch meetings and industry briefings in Riyadh.

CAA International (CAAi) has been appointed as a sub-contractor to French risk and safety management specialists, Apave Aeroservices, to deliver technical assistance and training services under a new EASA framework contract. The contract, titled ‘Lot 1: Aviation-related consultancy support to EASA’s international cooperation activities’, is managed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

CAA International (CAAi) has delivered a specialised ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP) familiarisation training course for the Civil Aviation Authority of the Bahamas. Hosted by CAA Bahamas in Nassau, the programme included presentations and interactive workshops aimed at preparing Bahamian aviation regulators for future ICAO audits.

This week, a delegation from Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority visited the UK to explore its approach to aviation economic regulation. Hosted by CAAi, the visit aimed to equip Thai regulators with key insights for implementing effective economic regulation and consumer protection
