Webinar: EASA Project Update — Detection of Lithium Batteries using Security Screening Equipment

Tuesday 10 September 2024, 14:00 – 16:00 CET, Online

With EASA’s research project, ‘Detection of Lithium Batteries Using Security Screening Equipment’ drawing to a close, this webinar will provide a progress update on the project to date and present the findings from the recent algorithm trial carried out at Belfast City Airport.

This EASA research project, funded by Horizon Europe, is being delivered by an EASA-appointed consortium consisting of CAA International and Rapiscan Systems Ltd.

Webinars: MSc/Apprenticeship in Aviation Safety Management, Risk and Regulation

Join Cranfield University and CAA International for an informative webinar to learn more about our jointly developed Aviation Safety Management, Risk and Regulation MSc/Apprenticeship.

This webinar will provide first-hand information to enable you to:

  • Understand the structure and content of the MSc and Apprenticeship
  • Hear from the Course Director and current students
  • Learn more about the apprenticeship standard and how it can benefit you and your organisation
  • Learn about CAA’s perspective
  • Ask questions and join the live Q&A

This part-time programme, developed by Cranfield University, in partnership with CAA International, meets the requirements of the Level 7 Risk and Safety Management Professional Standard. Eligible organisations, such as the CAA, can use their Apprenticeship Levy to cover the cost of the programme.

The session will run on Zoom and last approximately 60 minutes, with plenty of time allocated to Q&A sessions.

Webinar: EASA Project Update – Impact of Security Measures on Safety

With EASA’s research project, ‘Impact of Security Measures on Safety’, into its second year of delivery, this webinar will provide a progress update on the project to date and summarise the study’s top priorities for the rest of 2024. This session will primarily focus on the ongoing work in Task 2, ‘Assessment of the impact of security measures on safety,’ and the commencement of Task 3, ‘Analysis of certification standards.’ The webinar is open to aviation professionals from industry organisations and authorities and will highlight the opportunity for stakeholders to input into the project findings.

ICAO GISS 24
ICAO’s Global Implementation Support Symposium 2024

30 April – 2 May 2024, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The theme for this year is ‘Optimising Aviation Capacity Strategies for Safe Skies, Sustainable Future’ and will be hosted by the Instituto Dominicano de Aviación Civil (IDAC). Taking place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the Symposium will be composed of interactive panels including discussions on pivotal implementation support activities and exploring the significance of continuous learning and emerging technologies in driving effective capacity projects.

The aim of the event is to highlight organisation’s latest digital tools, key initiatives, and collaborative endeavours to support aviation resilience, fostering innovation, promoting sustainable development, and providing operational solutions.

Webinar on the final results of the EASA ATCO Fatigue Study

Ahead of the publication of the final report in Spring 2024, EASA and consortium members (including CAAi) will present the study’s key findings and recommendations during this event. This event will exclusively focus on the study outcomes and will not delve into the scientific methodology. This information has already been provided at the December Webinar and will be detailed in the final report.
