Maria Rueda, Managing Director at CAA International (CAAi), has announced that she will leave her role in September after more than twelve years at the UK CAA’s international cooperation and training arm. 

Matthew Margesson, Head of International Operations at CAAi, has been appointed interim Managing Director until Maria’s permanent successor is announced. 

Maria joined CAAi in 2011 and took on senior roles within the organisation, including Director of International Development and latterly, Managing Director since 2015. Before joining CAAi, Maria held senior positions at Deloitte and was previously Business Development Director at George Best Belfast City Airport.

Commenting on her announcement, Maria said:  

“It has been an incredible privilege to serve as CAAi’s Managing Director. Over the past twelve years, I have had the honour to work with a multitude of aviation organisations across the world, tackling some of the most significant challenges facing civil aviation. My tenure has been a profoundly rewarding journey, working with an exceptional team fuelled with an unwavering passion to positively impact people’s lives globally by promoting and enhancing aviation standards.”

“My profound gratitude resonates with the invaluable experiences gained and the enduring relationships I have been fortunate to forge along this journey. As I step aside, I remain confident in CAAi’s dedication to its mission and capability to achieve greater heights in advancing global aviation standards.”

Maria will remain in post until she steps down as Managing Director at the end of September.
