The Albanian Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) has appointed CAA International (CAAi) to deliver a comprehensive regulatory aviation training programme for its inspectorate personnel. This specialised training, led by experienced UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) experts, will take place in Albania to enhance the readiness of the national aviation regulatory body ahead of an ICAO ICVM later this year.

With training delivery already underway and more deliveries planned throughout 2024 in Tirana, the programme will strengthen the skills and knowledge of inspectorate staff. Covering various regulatory domains such as safety management, regulatory oversight, and adherence to ICAO standards and recommended practices, the training will help the Albanian CAA prepare for its upcoming ICAO ICVM audit.

This training agreement highlights the shared commitment of ACAA and CAAi to advance aviation safety and regulatory excellence in Albania, with a focus on key areas such as Safety Management Systems, Risk Monitoring & Safety Performance, Human Factors Application, and Audit Techniques.

Silke Buckley, Head of Training at CAA International, commented:

“Our collaboration with the Albanian CAA on this training programme marks a pivotal step in their preparation for the ICAO ICVM audit. We are grateful for the opportunity to work together and support their journey towards enhanced regulatory oversight and operational excellence.”

Maksim Ethemaj, Executive Director of The Albanian CAA, added:

“We are committed to safety while progressing towards excellence. We will do it through our people and in close cooperation with well recognised organisation”.
