The UK CAA regulates over 140 airports and around 60 Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) across more than 100 locations. Our direct access to this expertise uniquely positions us to guide international airports and ANSPs on certification processes, infrastructure development, environmental issues, and more

Aerodrome Certification & Safeguarding

We assist airports in meeting Aerodrome Certification requirements set by their regulators and support regulators with the certification process in compliance with ICAO and EASA regulations. Additionally, we provide detailed, tailored recommendation reports to support aerodrome safeguarding, ensuring aircraft safety during take-off, landing, and nearby operations.

Surveillance

We provide technical advisory services for a range of surveillance systems, including Primary Surveillance Radar, Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR), SSR Mode S Systems, Multilateration Systems, ADS-B Systems, Surface Movement Radar (SMR) Systems, Wind Farm Interference Mitigation Systems, and Aeronautical Surveillance Systems. Our expertise includes reviewing safety assurances for these systems.

Communications

We provide technical advisory services for various communications and related systems, including the Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network (AFTN), aeronautical communication systems such as HF, VHF, and UHF radio telephony, aeronautical data link systems like Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC), Air Traffic Information Systems (ATIS), and airport weather services including Volume Meteorological (VOLMET).

Navigation

We offer technical advisory services for various navigation systems, including VOR, DME, NDB, ILS, and MLS. We also review safety cases for RNAV and RNP systems used in Air Traffic Management (ATM) and approaches.

Airspace Policy & Design

We assist with organisations with airspace allocation, planning, implementation, and daily management. Our support ensures that airspace design effectively balances the needs of all users and stakeholders.

Air Traffic Services Approval

We offer guidance on Air Traffic Control training organisation approvals, Air Traffic Control Unit approvals, and ongoing regulatory oversight for Air Navigation Service Providers through audits in accordance with UK and European regulations.

Meteorological Services

We offer a range of services to National Aviation Authorities and Meteorological Service providers, including oversight guidance, auditing services, arrangement advice, and specialized technical meteorological advice and support.

Runway Incursions / Excursions

Aerodrome Licence Holders must tackle runway incursion hazards and focus on prevention. We support implementing strategies to minimise incursions and boost hazard awareness among aerodrome users.

Apprenticeships

At CAAi, we support several Apprenticeship opportunities. We currently support the following Apprenticeship standards:

Level 3 Digital Business Accelerator Apprenticeship – this is an ideal apprenticeship if you are looking for a career in business administration, project management, data management and reporting.
Level 3 Learning and Design Apprenticeship – this is an ideal apprenticeship if you are looking for a career in Training delivery, learning solution design and Talent Development.
Level 3 Digital Marketer Apprenticeship – this is an ideal apprenticeship if you are looking for a career in Marketing and Communications.
Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship – this is an ideal apprenticeship for those who already have work experience and are a new or aspiring first line manager. The course is designed for those who manage people within their day to day activity and have responsibility of people processes.
Level 4 – Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprenticeship – this is an ideal apprenticeship if you are looking for a career in auditing, regulation, or compliance.
Level 7 – MSc Aviation Safety Management, Risk and Regulation – In partnership with Cranfield University, this is an ideal postgraduate course available as an apprenticeship for professionals working in aerospace and commercial air transport industries. It provides a globally unique offering that relates to the regulatory background of all aspects of aviation safety, including design, production, operations, and maintenance.
